Drawing down our carbon emissions and transitioning our region to a net-zero economy is no small task. To drive down the 63% of our greenhouse gas emissions attributed to buildings, we are mobilizing a coalition that is multi-disciplinary, culturally inclusive, and outcome-oriented. From building owners to lenders, contractors to public officials, utility providers to tenants- we need to come together to support a healthy and resilient Kansas City that benefits current and future generations.
We believe that convening a diverse community of private, public, non-profit, and community leaders is just the start. With your support, we hope to develop energy-efficiency financing tools that address hard to reach markets, create technical assistance programs to guide building owners, and seek out BIPOC-led partnerships that can allow communities of color to define our built environment for the next century.

BE-Ex KC hosted an Energy Efficiency Day to celebrate the City of Kansas City, Missouri's commitment to energy efficiency. Hosted at 2nd and Delaware, the world's largest passive house project to date, Mayor Quinton Lucas, BE-Ex KC director Ashley Sadowski, and the Arnold Development team provided remarks for a crowd of real estate professionals and public officials. (Event in collaboration with ULI Kansas City)
